Spero Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our team!

This position is for a Nurse Practitioner with the ability to prescribe buprenorphine to join our team to fulfill its mission of "Saving Lives, Instilling Hope, and Restoring Relationships" to those suffering from substance use disorder. We provide care on an outpatient basis for patients attending HIOP or IOP services. Working in conjunction with counseling and recovery support specialists within our facilities in order bring the most comprehensive level of care to the patients that we serve.

Spero Health utilizes an innovative evidenced-based integrated care model that combines both physical and behavioral healthcare services under one roof to treat the whole patient. We offer medication-assisted treatment along with counseling and case management within our facilities in order to bring the most comprehensive level of care to the patients that we serve while our community-based approach to treatment allows patients to continue working and caring for their families as they overcome addiction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support for individuals with complex addiction and substance related health conditions
• Maintain ongoing care, including continuation of home medications if necessary for the duration of the program. Continue prescriptions until a scheduled follow-up appointment with PCP
• Complete full and appropriate documentation to support professional billing for services
• Provide education regarding illness and prognosis to assist with clarification of patient and family goals of care and support development of a comprehensive care plan
• VP Clinical Services will provide oversight and supervision on clinical initiatives and processes
• Interpreting test results to diagnosis any health issues and provide feedback to patients
• Educating and Counseling patients regarding medication compliance and adherence to recommended health related practices
• Work with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to administer the best care for those patients that need not only medical therapy but behavioral health services as well.
• Patient follow-up visits regarding patients' progress with medication and/or treatment
• Contacts patient's PCP and/or specialist(s) when necessary
• Reviews and oversees progress and treatment plans, including making any adjustments
• Maintains required licensure, certifications and CME credits
• Provide training as needed for teammates

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active and unrestricted medical license as a nurse practitioner within the applicable state.
• Current, active DEA licensure and prescriptive authority in state(s) where applicable.
• Experience providing addiction medicine services for both medically and socially complex population
• Experience managing complex substance use disorders
• Ability to develop relationships with network and community physicians and other providers.
• Ability to work on-site with diverse care teams in a variety of settings
• Effective time management and communication skills
• Computer literate and experience with Electronic Medical Records

Spero Health will provide the following training required for HIOP programs, all of which must be completed within the first 90 days of employment:

• CPR Certification, Basic First Aid, Narcan Administration and De-Escalation Training
• Human Rights regulation training (for Virginia only)
