Job Description:
Role Summary
The Senior Manager, RCM is responsible for daily operations and project initiatives for practice-based revenue cycle management (RCM) teams, third-party RCM vendors, and internal One Oncology teams. This position will utilize analytics to guide workflow optimization, drive RCM projects, and lead RCM teams.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Directors and VP to coordinate and ensure delivery of high-quality RCM services at multiple practices and across service lines.
Communicate timely and proactively to leadership to optimize RCM functions and minimize financial risk.
Manage teams of RCM staff, supervisors, and managers responsible for implementing revenue cycle workflows, meeting performance metrics, and delivering quality service.
Lead daily operations across all RCM service lines, including patient access, insurance verification and eligibility, authorizations, coding and billing, cash applications, A/R management, and patient financial services.
Monitor performance metrics, denial trends, and days in A/R; develop action plans to improve results.
Understand and summarize key performance indicators to present to leadership on state of clinics or departments in span of control.
Oversee policy development, process improvement, workflow efficiency, and staff training across the revenue cycle.
Collaborate with internal departments, clinical teams, and payer partners to resolve issues and ensure seamless patient and provider experiences.
Support onboarding new clinics, providers, and service lines into RCM workflows.
Manage staffing, performance evaluations, coaching, and employee development.
Serve as the escalation point for complex reimbursement, payer, or patient financial concerns.
Contribute to strategic RCM initiatives and organizational goals.
Work with the analytics team to identify meaningful metrics for deep dive RCM review.
Ensure external vendor and in-sourced RCM compliance with all coding and billing guidelines.
Comprehensively understand the billing system and programs utilized within RCM to be a super user and content expert.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.
Qualifications
3+ years in relevant healthcare and RCM leadership experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Coding certification preferred
Strong background in managed care payer market
Oncology or clinic experience a plus
Travel as needed for business need
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Must be detail oriented and organized
Flatiron OncoEMR proficiency desired but not required
Strong Microsoft suite skills required including Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of practice management software preferred
High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information
Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
