Job Description:

Role Summary:

The Sr. Manager, Pharmacy Operations will report to OneOncology’s Director of Pharmacy Operations. An ideal candidate will be ready to partner with the OneOncology Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Operations Teams to offer guidance to optimize clinical and operational pharmacy services throughout the United Urology Group network. This leadership position will involve supporting the Vice President, Pharmacy Services in strategic planning and collaboration with various stakeholders throughout the United Urology Group to achieve pharmacy organizational goals. The Senior Manager, Pharmacy Operations will play a critical role in driving the success of our pharmacy services, ensuring the highest level of patient care and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs all efforts related to pharmacy operations at United Urology Group.

  • Develops strategy to enhance in-office dispensing (IOD) operations. Leads implementation of that strategy.

  • Analyze regulatory changes and pharmacy operations best practices to stay ahead of pharmacy operational developments, including, but not limited to USP 795, 797 and 800 and IOD pharmacy rules and regulations.

  • Evaluates and implements pharmacy technologies to improve United Urology IOD operations.

  • Serve as interface between OneOncology/United Urology Group practices and Cencora to assist with any practice needs and/or concerns surrounding drug shortages, shipments and/or IOD pharmacy initiatives.

  • Implement quality assurance programs around IOD and USP 795, 797 and 800.

  • Collaborates with the Director of Pharmacy Operations and United Urology Group Clinical Staff at corporate and practice level as a clinical pharmacy subject matter expert for incoming clinical information requests.

  • Utilize evidence-based practices to develop clinical program content and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Works collaboratively with the Director, Clinical Pharmacy Services and Director, Pharmacy Operations at corporate and practice level as a pharmacy operations subject matter expert for incoming operational information requests.

  • Utilize evidence-based practices to develop quality improvement initiatives

  • Support the OneOncology Pharmacy Committee by acting as an oncology drug expert and development of educational programs.

  • Serves as a OneOncology and United Urology Group Pharmacy Operations representative on committees to facilitate shared interests and relationships.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.

Required or Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD (preferred)

  • Current Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy or Oncology or plan to sit within next two years (preferred)

  • Minimum 2-year oncology experience required

  • Experience with Flatiron Health OncoEMR software (preferred)

  • Current unrestricted pharmacist license required

Essential Competencies:

  • Expert knowledge of cancer medications, dosing, side effects, indications, contraindications and proper administration with ability access resources as required

  • Knowledge of retail pharmacy/IOD procedures and operations

  • Knowledge of USP 795, 797 and 800

  • Knowledge of clinic procedures and operations

  • Strong people skills for pharmacy staff and practice interactions

  • Excellent project management skills with an emphasis on detail and follow-through

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to use computers and software applications (MS Office products)

  • Knowledge of medical & pharmacy benefit billing practices

  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements

  • Ability to implement change in a positive way while ensuring a high-level of practice satisfaction
