Job Description:
The Staff Accountant, Practice Accounting, reports to the Manager of Practice Accounting and supports the month-end close and financial reporting process within a specific functional pod on the operational accounting team. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries and reconciliations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP. This entry-level role is an opportunity to build foundational accounting and analytical skills while contributing to the accuracy and timeliness of the organization’s financial results.
This is a hybrid role in Nashville, TN.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with monthly close activities, including consolidations and preparation of financial statements.
- Support the Senior Accountant and Manager in variance analysis and financial reviews.
- Maintain organized supporting documentation for all accounting transactions.
- Assist in preparing schedules and analyses for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Participate in implementing new accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Build strong working relationships with peers, practice staff, and internal finance teams.
- Support ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.

Required or Preferred Qualifications:
- 0-4+ years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
- Working knowledge of Workday or other ERP platforms is a plus
- Active CPA license or working toward CPA license preferred
