Job Description:
The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely posting of our payments and adjustments. This role will report to the Manager, RCM Payment Posting.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately record payments and adjustments received via ERA (electronic remittance advice) and office mail.
• Run electronic deposit reports and process payments, adjustments and rejections. Provide reconciliation/balancing of same.
• Post rejections by insurance companies.
• Manage daily payment transaction registers from site.
• Assist Reimbursement Team Leader with various projects.
• Perform other office duties as assigned by manager
• Additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.
Required or Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five (5) years Medical Billing and payment posting/ reconciliation experience.
• Familiarity with medical billing software.
Essential Competencies:
• Proficient knowledge of Medical Terminology; ICD-9 and CPT-4 Codes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word • Accurate and efficient data entry skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer software and database skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
• Attendance is an essential job function.
