Job Description:

The Bladder Cancer Coordinator will be an integral part of the Bladder Cancer team. This role will elevate the care and will impact the clinical outcomes of our bladder cancer patients by identifying patients that are candidates for novel therapies & clinical trials and move patients along in their treatment journey where successes have previously not been met.

Today these therapies can include Jelmyto, Keytruda, Adstiladrin, Anktiva, Zusduri, Inlexzo. As additional Bladder Cancer treatment options are identified, this role may also gain exposure to clinical research opportunities, including: Biomarker studies, Intermediate risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, BCG naive non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, BCG unresponsive non-muscle invasive bladder cancer and neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapies for muscle invasive bladder cancer.

The Bladder Cancer Coordinator will be a dynamic role which requires a multi-dimensional skillset including the ability to execute key data mining processes to identify potential patients, interact with clinicians across United Urology and with care teams outside the company to gather clinical and laboratory information. The individual will then determine appropriate clinical progression and navigate patients to physician champions in bladder cancer.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review patients formerly diagnosed with Bladder Cancer for key characteristics leading to selection for novel therapies and clinical trials:

  • Identify all patients starting and remaining on intravesical therapy

  • Gather missing and necessary clinical details from a wide-range of sources

  • Review appropriateness of work up, risk stratification, and treatment plan

  • Navigate and introduce patients to specialist bladder cancer physicians

  • Participates in research, quality, and performance improvement, including reporting on navigation metrics.

  • Review provider requests for induction, maintenance and novel therapies; screen requests for potential clinical trial eligibility

  • Maintain and update selection criteria with assistance from bladder cancer physicians and research team

  • Standardize protocols and patient tracking; Identify areas for continuous improvement (e.g. BCG over utilization, novel therapy underutilization, appropriate referrals for clinical trials, etc.)

  • Integrate novel AI pathology prediction tools to identify best treatment options

  • Knowledgeable of practice operations guidelines, practice organization, and healthcare economics.

Qualifications:

  • Three+ (3) years work experience in a urology practice or clinic

Knowledge, Competencies & Skills:

  • Current knowledge of clinical best practices, quality assurance standards, and patient care management.

  • Strong understanding of medical models, anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and clinical diagnostics.

  • Proficient in applying the full nursing process, including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Familiarity with cancer registries, accreditation requirements, and HIPAA compliance.

  • Skilled in care coordination and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to assess health disparities and navigate culturally sensitive patient care needs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a healthcare team.

  • Highly organized with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in EMR systems, computer use, and online research.

  • Knowledge of community resources to support patient care.

  • Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with a commitment to excellent customer service.

  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute ideas to improve patient outcomes.

Travel:

  • Must have the ability & willingness to travel to other sites as necessary within a geographic region.

Physical Requirements for the Job:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay Range: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Actual compensation offered to candidates is based on work experience, education, skill level, and geographic location. Compensation may vary depending on the state or region in which the position is located, in accordance with applicable laws.
