Job Description:
The Benefit Specialist will report to OneOncology’s Director, Benefits. This role is responsible for administration of various employees benefit plans such as health, dental, vision, life, HSA, FSA, transit, disability, 401(K), tuition assistance and leave of absence. The Benefit Specialist will be responsible for receiving, routing, resolving, and properly closing all HR benefit inquiries in an accurate and timely matter. The Benefits Specialist will work closely with our vendors, consultants, and benefits administration team.
This role is in-person at the OneOncology downtown Nashville office.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day administration of assigned benefits programs, including quality checks of benefits and retirement information
Research and responds to employees, HR Business Partners and/or any other support staff questions and/or escalations including data corrections, manual updates/urgent data updates, claims issues or plan questions
Works with vendors on open cases, responds to requests and works closely with the vendor team to troubleshoot and help identify root cause when necessary
Assists with new hire orientations to provide benefits and retirement overview
Participates in annual open enrollment testing and presentations
Prepares recommendations for eligibility appeals
Coordinates with HR as needed to support leave of absence administration related to benefits
Process requests for census data and reports
Supports annual 401(k) testing and regulatory reporting
Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations
Works with entire benefits and HR teams to ensure plan policies and procedures are applied consistently and fairly
Completion of other tasks, as assigned

Demonstrates excellent customer service, strong issue-resolution skills, teamwork and collaboration, and positive attitude
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and communications via Outlook and Slack)
Strong knowledge of employee benefits administration including medical, dental, life, disability, 401(k) plans, FMLA, and COBRA
Prior experience with Workday is a plus
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferred
3 years of experience in employee benefits or administration
