Psychiatric Mental Health NP, NPMNP

General Description: Using an evidence-based approach, the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will conduct outpatient comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental illness, prescribe and monitor medications and make other treatment recommendations. This role will be housed in clinic, with the option to see patients virtually as needed. Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Develops and implements client treatment plans based on mutually accepted goals in a professional, non-judgmental manner.
• Adapts therapeutic approach to meet the needs of individual needs of clients and across diverse populations.
• Contributes to the mission, vision, and program philosophies by way of work product and professional behavior with both colleagues and clients.
• Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA, in addition to federal or state laws specific to disclosure of mental health information, substance abuse or psychotherapy notes.
• Completes documentation in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.
• Compliance with all regulatory requirements, as well as Company and Behavioral Health policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Must have a TN license
• Ability to treat children and adults
• Must be certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
• Maintain professional licensure and/or certifications throughout employment.
• Effective oral/written communication and organizational skills.
• Experience assessing for mental health emergencies, crisis response, and coordination of care.
