Position: IT Security Analyst

The IT Security Analyst will assist in all ongoing activities related to the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the patient, provider, employee, and business information in compliance with Monogram Health’s Information Security policies and procedures. This role will be expected to continually adapt and stay ahead of cyber attackers by remaining abreast/knowledgeable of cybersecurity trends. The IT Security Analyst will work as part of a team, collaborating to implement and manage security controls, tools, and processes. The successful candidate will be curious, creative, and have extensive interest in the latest security developments.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipates security threats that generate alerts, incidents, and disasters and recommends controls to reduce their likelihood
  • Analyzes incidents and security breaches to determine root causes
  • Prepares reports that document security incidents and breaches and the extent of the damage caused by the breaches
  • Assists in recommending appropriate security tools and countermeasures
  • Assists in creating & maintaining Incident Response Playbacks and Runbooks for the different type of security incidents/scenarios
  • Performs anomaly detection and threat hunting to identify suspicious/anomalous activity that will require further detailed investigation to mitigate possible risks
  • Maintains security monitoring systems and monitors security access
  • Supports managing networks, intrusion detection & prevention systems, making recommendations for improvements
  • Participates in training fellow employees in security awareness and procedures
  • Collaborates in investigating improper access; recommending revocation of access; reporting violations; monitoring information requests; recommending improvements
  • Assists in establishing system controls, implementing control frameworks, and evaluating levels of access, recommending improvements
  • Participates in establishing plans and protocols to protect digital files and information systems against unauthorized access, modification, and/or destruction
  • Produces metrics reporting the state of the security of the organization by means of the performance of security incident response & threat detection
  • Keeps constantly updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Establish relationships and interact with other teams within IT and other Monogram Health departments.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related field, such as systems engineer, network engineer, systems analyst, systems administrator, which includes a minimum of one (1) year of experience in IT Security as a Security Engineer, Incident Response, Pen Testing, or related role. (e.g., Security Engineer, Incident Response, Pen Testing, etc.)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations including PCI, HIPAA, N/S T, HITRUST, and IS027007. Working knowledge of and experience in policy and regulatory environments of information security. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience in implementing and managing security technology. CrowdStrike, Proofpoint, Zscaler, Tenable, and Wiz experience preferred.
  • CISSP Certification preferred.
  • IT Security certification(s) preferred.
