Position: Director, Licensing

The Director, Licensing provides strategic and operational leadership for all provider licensing activities across Monogram Health’s multi-state operations. This role oversees the full licensing lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance while building scalable, efficient processes that support timely provider onboarding and uninterrupted patient care. The Director partners closely with Credentialing, Compliance, and Operations leaders to align licensing strategy with organizational growth and serves as the escalation point for complex licensing and regulatory matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end provider licensing across all states and provider types
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with state licensing laws, practice acts, DEA/CDS/CSR, prescriptive authority, collaborative practice agreements, and licensure compacts
  • Monitor regulatory changes and translate requirements into operational workflows
  • Serve as primary escalation point for complex, high-risk, or time-sensitive licensing issues
  • Build and maintain scalable licensing workflows, lifecycle tracking, and expirable management
  • Own licensing data integrity across systems and reporting tools
  • Support and develop dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level reporting to support forecasting and decision-making
  • Lead, coach, and develop Licensing Specialists and related team members
  • Establish performance expectations, service levels, and quality standards
  • Partner cross-functionally with Credentialing, Compliance, Provider Operations, HR, Finance, and IT
  • Act as liaison with state boards, monitoring vendors, and external partners
  • Maintain audit readiness and support NCQA, CMS, Joint Commission, and delegated credentialing requirements
  • Manage licensing-related vendors, expenses, and reconciliation processes
  • Represent Licensing in leadership and executive forums

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in provider licensing, credentialing, or medical staff services, including three (3) years of people leadership experience
  • Extensive knowledge of multi-state licensure, DEA/CDS, prescriptive authority, CPAs, and licensure compacts
  • Proficiency with licensing systems, dashboards, and Excel-based reporting
  • Proven ability to build scalable processes in a fast-paced or high-growth environment
  • Analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in telehealth, multi-state, or value-based care models preferred
  • Experience supporting NCQA accreditation or delegated credentialing preferred
