Position: Director of Medical Economics
The Director, Medical Economics is a key role focused on enhancing and executing a robust performance management process at both the client and operational reporting levels. This position aims to identify medical cost trends and actionable opportunities that impact MLR, as well as to monitor performance against underwriting targets to identify gaps, recommend actions, and assess financial impacts. By delivering actionable insights, this role ensures our fast-growing organization continues to excel. The role involves collaborating across various teams including Actuarial, Medical Economics, Clinical, and Operations to implement and measure strategic actions based on analytical insights. Location and remote work options are flexible. Great opportunity to join a fast growing organization and leading value based care provider. Will be in Nashville, TN or Remote.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead analysis to identify trend and performance drivers; translate insights and opportunities into actionable strategies, both operationally and contractually
- Connect operational performance with financial and clinical outcomes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical and Operations leaders to assess, value and measure actionable initiatives that impact MLR
- Support ad hoc analytical projects in a dynamic and evolving organization
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; actuarial designation (ASA or FSA) a plus
- 7+ years of relevant actuarial or analytical healthcare experience
- Exceptional analytical skills, including data visualization and presentation in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficient in SQL/R/Python
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information across an array of different teams within the organization
- Critical thinker, self starter, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives at the same time
- Comfort and experience working in a fast paced and dynamic team environment
