Position: Integration Engineer

Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the Integration Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting interfaces between customers, both external and internal, and Monogram Health’s integration platform. This includes applying governance best practices, automation, design, implementation, support of interfaces, and some operational work. Engage and communicate with stakeholders, work closely with technical teams, and participate in troubleshooting sessions. Occasional off-hours support is sometimes required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of various application integrations including Salesforce Health Cloud and Athena Health.
  • Be familiar with the latest HL7 FHIR version as well as other interoperability frameworks. Maintain proficient programming skills in REST web services, C#.NET, XML, JSON, and other relevant languages and/or frameworks.
  • Create, present, and maintain program design artifacts like data flow diagrams and end-user process maps.
  • Elicit and help configure integration tools or platforms necessary to implement bi-directional application and EHR connectivity.
  • Lead authentication and security strategy for connections between internal and external systems.
  • Review all project-related design documents and ensure alignment with enterprise software development standards including change management.
  • Identify emerging technology trends and leverage them in the healthcare industry. Stay up to date on interoperability concepts and standards.
  • Configure interface monitoring options and review and ensure all error messages are addressed according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Participate in implementing change management processes for all solution releases.
  • Participate in integration testing with internal applications and with external third-party external applications.
  • Provide on-call support for production performance/availability or other critical issues.
  • Virtual experience with the ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment.
  • Exhibit excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and an ability to balance and fulfill multiple priorities.
  • Adhere to an analytical approach with an ability to solve complex problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of interoperability techniques and best practices for EHRs.

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years of HL7 experience (version 2.x / version 3)
  • Knowledge of HL7 Integration Engine Platforms
  • 3+ years of interface support/troubleshooting experience
  • 3+ years of experience with XML / JSON
  • Working knowledge of CDA (Clinical Document Architecture) standards
  • Proven experience with Java and JavaScript
  • Experience with Rhapsody or Mirth integration engines is preferred
  • Proficient in change management and working with other engineers to resolve critical issues.
