Position: Senior DevOps Engineer
As a Senior DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in Microsoft Azure, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our cloud infrastructure and automating our development workflows. This position involves collaborating effectively with both onshore and offshore teams, ensuring seamless communication and integration of development and operations processes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD practices and expertise in managing code repositories in Azure DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure for scalable and secure applications.
- Utilize Azure services (e.g., Azure App Services, Azure Functions) to optimize resource usage and operational efficiency.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure Bicep for automation of deployments.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for automated build, test, and release processes.
- Help navigate ensuring the team can release reliably with high quality.
- Collaborate with development teams—both onshore and offshore—defining and implementing deployment strategies and promoting best practices for source control and branching.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with offshore teams to align objectives, share knowledge, and drive project success.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to onshore and offshore team members in DevOps best practices.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and other relevant tools to ensure application performance and reliability.
- Proactively identify and resolve performance issues and bottlenecks in the deployment process.
- Implement and maintain compliance measures, including vulnerability assessments and remediation strategies.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in DevOps engineering or a related role, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
- In-depth knowledge of Azure services and architecture, as well as Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
- Knowledge and understanding of networking, security, and system administration in cloud environments.
- Proven experience working with geographically distributed teams and the ability to navigate cultural differences effectively.
- Evidence of problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively across teams.
