Our customers are platforms, payers, and operators moving significant volume—and they expect a true infrastructure partner. Lynx is a fast-growing Series A company backed by more than $50M in funding from leading investors including Flare Capital Partners, CVS Health, .406 Ventures, and McKesson Ventures. We operate with a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality, moving quickly, staying highly collaborative, and focusing on impact. Every team member plays a critical role in shaping our growth, product, and market presence. As we continue to grow, we are looking for talented teammates across multiple functions. Interested in joining us? We'd love to meet you.

Description

This is a hands-on individual contributor role reporting directly to the VP of Accounting & Controller, with meaningful exposure to the CFO and senior leadership. You’ll own day-to-day accounting activities, support the monthly close, and help strengthen the systems, processes, and documentation that support Lynx’s growth.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to do more than maintain the books. You’ll work across monthly close, revenue accounting, billings and collections, audit readiness, automation, technical accounting support, and select strategic finance initiatives — all within a lean, fast-moving fintech environment.

What You’ll Do

Monthly Close & Core Accounting

  • Support and perform the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items
  • Own day-to-day revenue accounting, including analysis and journal entries for revenue streams such as interchange fees, ecommerce, revenue share arrangements, and subscriptions
  • Manage monthly billings and collections, including hands-on invoicing and customer follow-up as needed
  • Prepare accounting for stock-based compensation
  • Support payables, accruals, and other operating expense accounting
  • Prepare payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliations
  • Manage prepaid expenses, including accounting for costs to fulfill a contract under ASC 340-40
  • Help ensure the close process is accurate, timely, and well-documented
  • Support monthly FP&A model updates used for management and Board reporting
  • Assist with updates to Board materials, including financial and operating performance schedules
  • Work directly with the CFO and VP of Accounting to connect accounting results to business performance, forecasts, and strategic decision-making

Process Improvement & Strategic Projects

  • Support audit readiness initiatives and assist with audit requests, schedules, and documentation
  • Help document accounting processes, including flowcharts and narratives for revenue-related processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, controls, and close efficiency
  • Support AI and automation initiatives across the accounting function
  • Partner with the VP of Accounting on technical accounting research and analysis for complex or non-routine transactions
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Product, and Sales to understand business activity and ensure it is properly reflected in the financial statements

What You Bring

Required

  • Active CPA license
  • 3–6 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement support
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and follow through on details
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Clear communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
  • A hands-on, ownership-oriented mindset
  • Comfort working in a lean, fast-moving environment with evolving processes
  • Ability to consistently work Eastern Time business hours

Preferred

  • Experience in fintech, payments, financial services, SaaS, or another high-growth environment
  • Public accounting experience, including Big 4, national, or regional firm experience
  • Experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Familiarity with ASC 340-40, stock-based compensation, payroll accounting, accruals, and prepaid expenses
  • Experience supporting audits or audit readiness projects
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, AI tools, and building scalable accounting processes

What Makes You a Fit

  • You are detail-oriented but understand the bigger picture
  • You like building, improving, and documenting processes — not just following them
  • You are comfortable being hands-on and taking ownership
  • You can operate in ambiguity without waiting for perfect instructions
  • You enjoy collaborating with business partners outside of accounting
  • You are curious, practical, and eager to keep learning
  • You want exposure to senior finance leaders and room to grow with the company

Why This Role

  • Help build the accounting function at a fast-growing fintech infrastructure company
  • Own meaningful pieces of the monthly close and day-to-day accounting process
  • Gain exposure to revenue accounting, audit readiness, automation, and technical accounting projects
  • Work directly with the VP of Accounting, CFO, and cross-functional leaders
  • Gain exposure to FP&A, executive reporting, and Board materials through direct work with the CFO
  • Join a lean team where your work will have visible impact
  • Grow with the company as Lynx scales its accounting and finance operations

Why You’ll Love Working at Lynx

  • Competitive salary, equity, and performance bonuses
  • A driven, optimistic, and collaborative culture
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Unlimited vacation
  • Paid parental leave for eligible employees
  • 401(k) plan
  • Remote with regular in-person team meetings

Salary

$95,000 - $125,000 per year
