ABOUT THE ROLE
Position Summary:
Clinical genetic counselors use cutting edge technology to deliver telephone- and web-based genetic counseling at a time and place that is convenient to patients and their family members.
Essential Functions
- Collect and/or review personal and family health history
- Perform expert genetic risk assessment
- Provide patient education/counseling/support
- Document patient encounters
- Generate correspondence to patients and providers
- Guide genetic test facilitation in accordance with patient’s health plan benefits
- Act as a resource for referring physicians
- Note Review: GC will sign and send all documents without supervisor review - expected within 4 months of hire, required within 6 months, determined by Team Lead
Program Responsibilities
- Maintain initial case schedule requirements per week agreed upon in offer letter
- Participate in team meetings
- Complete ongoing employee training as instructed by HR
- Maintain state licensure, CEUs and board certification
- Respond to patient care issues in a timely fashion
- Attend project meetings as applicable, and work within project-specific client timelines

ABOUT YOU
Your Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or Human Genetics
- Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Genetic Counseling or American Board of Medical Genetics
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a clinical genetic counselor is required
