JOB OVERVIEW:

The Senior Analyst, People Systems plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and governance of Bicycle Health's Workday ecosystem across financially sensitive and compliance-driven functional areas. This role serves as the system owner for Workday and is responsible for the governance and performance of all Workday integrations.

As a senior-level individual contributor, the Senior Analyst represents the deep technical expertise track within People Systems. This role translates complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, ensures seamless system functionality and data integrity across platforms, and drives continuous improvement without people management responsibilities.

Reporting to the Manager, People Systems, this role operates as a senior subject matter expert and escalation point, driving system enhancements, strengthening audit readiness, and ensuring enterprise-grade controls across core People infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings deep Workday configuration expertise, strong integration experience, and a systems-oriented mindset grounded in compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Location: Remote

Schedule: Full time (40 hrs) - Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Target Pay Range: $95,000-125,000 - Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Workday Functional Ownership (Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Integrations):

  • Serve as the primary system owner for Workday.
  • Configure and maintain business processes, eligibility rules, condition logic, notifications, earnings and deduction configurations, and related workflows.
  • Translate complex business requirements from People, Payroll, Benefits, and Finance teams into scalable, secure Workday solutions.
  • Ensure system configurations align with compliance requirements, audit standards, and internal controls.
  • Lead testing cycles for compensation events, benefit plan changes, payroll configuration updates, and regulatory adjustments.
  • Serve as escalation support for complex system issues within assigned domains.

Workday Integration Governance:

  • Own governance, monitoring, and optimization of all Workday integrations, including payroll vendors,
  • Benefits carriers, compensation tools, finance systems, and other people platforms.• Partner with vendors and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure reliable data flow, proactive issue detection, and timely resolution of integration failures.
  • Lead testing and validation of integration changes during Workday releases and vendor updates.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual reconciliations, and improve system interoperability.

Reporting, Data Integrity & Controls:

  • Design advanced custom reports, calculated fields, and dashboards supporting compensation planning, benefits administration, payroll validation, and compliance needs.
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure data accuracy, configuration consistency, and adherence to privacy and security standards.
  • Execute mass data updates and integrations using EIBs and other Workday tools.
  • Support security configuration and role-based access governance within financially sensitive domains.
  • Strengthen internal controls by documenting configuration decisions and maintaining audit-ready records.

System Optimization & Release Management:

  • Serve as a lead contributor during biannual Workday release cycles: evaluate feature impacts, recommend adoption strategies, and lead testing efforts within assigned modules.
  • Proactively identify automation opportunities, configuration enhancements, and process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to assess system implications of policy, regulatory, or structural changes.

Documentation, Enablement & Change Management:

  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation for system configurations, integrations, and business processes.
  • Create clear implementation plans and stakeholder communications for major system changes.
  • Support enablement of People, Payroll, and Finance partners to ensure confident and effective system usage.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and escalation point for complex People Systems initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience configuring Workday HCM, with strong expertise in Compensation, Benefits, and/or Payroll modules.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and supporting Workday integrations across multiple vendors and platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of Workday business process framework, calculated fields, reporting, EIBs, and security configuration.
  • Experience supporting compensation cycles, benefits plan updates, payroll configuration governance, and compliance-driven system changes.
  • Strong understanding of system controls, data governance, and audit readiness within HRIS environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-impact priorities in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with People, Payroll, Finance, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • High level of discretion and comfort handling confidential and financially sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, project management tools, and modern collaboration platforms.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare, startup, or high-growth environment is a plus.
  • Workday certifications in Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, or Integrations are strongly preferred.
